I am sorry to hear of Robert Nutwell and Robin Brownings passing. I knew both of them when I lived there in Deale and was a member of the Deale Volunteer Fire Department. Please pass on my deepest sympathies to both families.

Hey everyone... I got to work at 42 today. It was good to see the equipment I was familiar with and see some friends faces. Deale was my first assignment out of fire school. There are some great memories here and I had a blast then just like I did today. Thanks so much everyone...

Mrs. B would have been so proud and grateful, as are the members of her family, for the honor given during the bereavement period and her funeral by the members of Deale VFD & RS.

The contributions she made for almost 50 years were born from her natural inclination to help others and to support her community, but the fire company was her special interest. We were raised believing that the fire company was a natural extension of the family life and being part of the fire service has always enhanced our family's life. The acknowledgement and support that the fire company gave to us for our mother during this time means so much. It validated the goodness and caring that our mother displayed in her commitment to the fire service. The many gestures in acknowledging her death as a loss to the fire company showed the community that a special and caring lady had the admiration of the "fire service family" members of the department. We thank you and appreciate all the support given to us during this time.

Great site guys! I work at Millville Vol Fire near the beach in De as a paid EMT/FF and my husband works at Frankford Vol Fire in De as the same. We're both volunteers at Dagsboro De so know tha whole side of that too! My brother is a "paid guy" at your station- Justin Plumer. Hope you all are glad to have him on- he is a great guy but I guess I'm partial to him as we have a one month-old son named after him... Interested in t-shirts for sale if you have any. Please let me know @ susista89@hotmail.com. Thanks so much!!!!

As a new member of the Deale community, as well as a volunteer and paid Firefighter in the past, it is reassuring to see an active and professional emergency crew here to help in time of emergency. Thank you for all your hard work.

I'm sorry to hear about Mrs. B. As most of you know she was the most giving lady I've ever met. What she did for my family in 1987 when my wife Tracie had fallen to a illness and later found herself in long term care was over and above the call of duty for a member. I send me prayers to the family and extend a big hug. Thank you Mrs. B for helping me.

My dad was Charles Russell Beatty. I still think about the good ole times around the firehouse, carnival, ladies auxilary, parades, oyster roasts, bingo.
I remember such names as Chocolate, Slaw, Hog, Tootie, Jr. Didi.
I read about Tommy Manifold. So sorry to hear about that.

Regards
Patsy

I remember the times of majoretting with Linda Crotts Dobson at the parades the Deale Fire Department participated in, or marching with the ladies auxilary, the carnivals, and the oyster roasts and other events. Those were over 42 years ago. My Dad was Charles Russell Beatty who was really involved in the fire department. He died in Jan. of 1965. All the fire departments were represented in Anne Arundel County at his funeral. It was a moving experience when the hurst rode by the fireman and fire trucks at the funeral. Those were the good "ole" days.
