On 7/12/06 Engine 422 and Truck 42 were alerted for a garage fire in the 41-13 box on Idlewilde Road. E411 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the second story of a detached garage. E422 arrived shortly after and assisted with fire attack. Of the units responding, all were put avaliable except E411, E422, Tk42 & Battalion 3. On 05/04/06 at 0820 hrs. Truck 42 was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident involving a passenger vehicle and large truck on Route 408 and Frank Moreland Road. Truck 42 arrived and found a head on collision with a car and large truck. Two persons were trapped in the car involved. One priority 4 due to serious trauma and another flown out by MSP Trooper. On Friday; 3/31/06 – Engine 422 was alerted to a boat fire at the Deale Marina fuel dock in the 42-17 box off of Deale Rd. First due units reported heavy smoke and fire off a fully involved boat. A second alarm was struck for the call that included units from both Anne Arundel and Calvert. Volunteer members from 42 performed fire attack and assisted in other operations. The only injury involved a 4 year old boy that was on the boat when the fire started and suffered minor burns to his hands and legs. On Saturday; 3/18/06 at 0808 hrs- Truck 42 & Engine 422 were alerted to a commercial building fire in the 1-33 box on 4700 block of Woodfield Rd. First due units reported heavy smoke showing and called for the second and third alarm. Tk42’s crew performed ventilation, ladder pipe operations, and assisted in overhaul. E422’s crew performed drafting and protecting exposures. More than 80 firefighters from Anne Arundel, Calvert, Queen Anne’s and Prince George’s counties, as well as from Annapolis and the U.S. Naval Academy, were on the scene, including 15 engine companies, six ladder companies, seven water tankers and three fireboats. On Wednesday; 03/15/06 Engine 421 responded to a multi-alarm building fire on the 13000 block of Solomons Island Rd in Calvert County. E421’s crew assisted units from Calvert, St. Mary’s, Charles & Anne Arundel counties with overhaul & cleanup operations on scene. E421 was on scene for a few hours before being put available. The fire started about 12:30 p.m. near a dock connected to Bowen’s Inn and spread to the Lighthouse Inn. Both buildings, including several apartments on the second floors, were destroyed. There was also damage to the outside of a third building. A small brush fire was also sparked due to the high winds. No injuries were reported; Damage was estimated at $5 million. Saturday, January 28th 0600 hrs, Engine 422 was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 42-24 Box on Franklin Manor Road. Engine 422 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire showing from the rear. Engine 422’s crew made an aggressive attack on the fire from both interior and exterior of the structure. At 1430 hrs. Engine 422 and Truck 42 responded to Jewell Road and Wilson Road for the school bus accident with reported injuries. Engine 422 arrived and established the Jewell Road command. Calvert Rescue Squad 5, Ambulance 58 and PG Medic 20 arrived on scene and assisted with one patient. Calvert Ambulance 58 transported one patient to Calvert Memorial while other units remained on scene to clear the roadway. Truck 42 and PG Squad 20 were placed in service prior to arrival.
