On Friday; 11/9/07 at 2210 hrs. – Engine 422 responded along with AAPD to a reported vehicle fire on Deale Road adjacent from the Post Office. E422 arrived at that location and found nothing. Fire alarm advised that the caller was actually on Deale-Churchton Rd across from the Churchton Post Office. E422 proceeded to that location and found a pickup truck off the roadway into the ditch. Medic 42 was called to the scene and was canceled due to patient refusal. The driver of the truck was not injured. AAPD was also on location and E422 when available shortly after. On Monday; 10/22/07 at around 0645 hrs. Engine 422 & Brush 42 responded for a brush fire along Deale Beach Road. The fire was situated between Deale Beach & Mimosa Cove Road. Utility 42 also added itself to the call for staffing. Water was supplied by E422 from Deale Beach Road as tankers shuttled water from nearby Carrs Creek. Over 800′ of attack line was in place to combat the fire which spread to a reported 10 acres. Units from Anne Arundel, Calvert & PG counties responded to the 2-alarm brush fire. On Monday; 10/1/07 at 1130 hrs. – Truck 42 responded to a MVC at the intersection of Route 258 & Franklin Gibson Road. Tk42 arrived on scene, found a MVC involving a dump truck and a water delivery truck. The dump truck was overturned on the roadside of southbound Rt 258, while the water delivery truck was in the northbound lane. Both vehicles had significant front end damage, though all persons involved self extricated themselves before units arrived on scene. Two Deale volunteer members were also on scene. Driver of the overturned dump truck was transported to PG Trauma via PM1 and the other driver was flown to PG Trauma via Trooper. There was also one refusal. On Sunday; 8/12/07 at 1831 hrs. – Truck 42 responded along with A419 to a MVC at the intersection of Route 258 & Swamp Circle Road. Tk42 arrived on scene, found a small pickup overturned in the road with one occupant that self extricated. The pickup was also towing a small trailer that was disconnected and off the roadway. There was a second vehicle involved with significant front end damage, of which both the driver and passenger refused treatment. On Sunday; 8/05/07 – Engine 422, Medic Unit 42, Utility 42 and Fire Boat 42 responded to a water rescue for a boat accident off of Herring Bay late Sunday night. Fire Boat 42 along with several units from Anne Arundel & Calvert and DNR & Coast Guard searched the waters for 4 persons in the water after the boat they were in sunk after striking a pound-net off Herring Bay. On 7/24/07 – Engine 422 responded along with Truck 42 to a Haz-Mat incident involving one patient. E422 arrived on scene, found a single patient with inhalation and chemical burns from at the time an unknown substance. The patient & family did report that it was a pool chemical. On Wednesday; 7/18/07 – Engine 422 was alerted to a possible boat fire at Hansel’s Marina off of Drum Point Road in the 42-18 box. E422 arrived and investigated the boat which had a smoky haze in the cabin. Fire shortly after made it’s way up through the cabin and engulfed the boat, which was still moored to the pier. Several units on shore as well as Fire Boat 42 worked to get the now floating free boat fire under control. FB42 was the only marine unit that was dispatched to arrive on scene.
